ADF rejects call for joint user airfield at Williamtown

Paterson MP Bob Baldwin says while Newcastle Airport and the Williamtown RAAF base can co-exist effectively, priority must always be given to military operations. An Australian Defence Force posture review has recommended not changing the status of Williamtown to a joint user airfield after Qantas called for the change. The report found Williamtown is one of three key capability generation and sustainment bases in Australia and is critical to military operations.
